How we work

Whether the work is a strategy, a due diligence exercise or support for one person, the shape of an Ambient engagement is the same.

01

We start with a conversation

Before anything is scoped or costed, we want to understand the decision you face, who is affected by it and what has already been tried. That conversation is free and carries no obligation.

02

Senior people, throughout

The associates who scope the work are the ones who do it. We work with a network of partners, each with over 25 years' experience, so the expertise is matched to the problem rather than to who happens to be free.

03

Proportionate by design

Our support is designed to leave your organisation able to implement, manage and deliver the work itself. That means plans that work in real life — proportionate, fit for purpose, and not gold-plated or more complicated than the situation needs.

Handled in confidence

Our work routinely touches material that is commercially sensitive, contested or pre-disclosure. We work under NDA as standard, and are glad to sign yours before the first substantive conversation — you never need to share anything sensitive to find out whether we can help.

Who we are

We are seasoned professionals, each with over 25 years of experience working with business leaders, project developers, lenders and consultancies across the full environmental and social lifecycle — from E&S strategy through to operationalisation.

Our focus is risk, impact assessment and due diligence, through to management systems and capability building. We have worked in more than 20 countries, for clients ranging from multinational corporates to SMEs, and have delivered formal and informal training to hundreds of professionals and leaders.

We have done the work we are advising on. The judgement comes from having been accountable for it, not from having read about it.

Ambient works with a network of associate partners, each with over 25 years' experience and drawn from every level of the discipline. We match the partner to the problem, and tell you who you will be working with before the work begins.

Get in touch

Tell us about the decision you face, or the piece of work in front of your team. An initial discussion is confidential, without obligation and free of charge — and we will tell you honestly if we are not the right people for it.

Whether you are commissioning work, managing a programme, or the person who would be supported, you are equally welcome to get in touch.
